CLIENT QUESTION:

What is the amount limit that you can have in the bank to be eligible for Medicaid?

MY RESPONSE:

Each year we get a new number based upon inflation, telling us how much money and/or other non-exempt assets you can have and still get Medicaid. The 2024 number was (and still is) $31,175, noting that certain assets may not count toward this number, like your retirement plans. We expect the new 2025 number soon and I will let you know what it is as soon as I see it.

I hope this helps.
