READER QUESTION:
I have all my children’s names on all my bank accounts and money markets. Are they able to get the money after we die without any problems or probate?
MY RESPONSE:
YES! HOWEVER, if all the money is distributed to the family, who is going to pay the estate expenses, house carrying charges, funeral bill, etc. If everyone gets along, then there is no problem. But if we are looking for a contribution from everyone in a dysfunctional family, we could have a problem collecting after one of them lays out the money. Food for thought!
