MEDICAL AID IN DYING LAW

A new bill is heading to the New York Governor’s desk for signing regarding MEDICAL AID IN DYING. If she signs the bill, New York will join eleven other states (and the District of Columbia) that allow people to end their lives when facing an incurable and irreversible illness, with six months or less to live. I understand that there is a process containing certain safeguards.

While I personally support this bill, I know that some of my readers do not. I respect all personal beliefs. My purpose here is to report on the law; it is not to advocate for one side or the other.

As the law develops, I will report back to you what I learn.

I hope this helps!
