I get a stipend from the VA each month. It’s non-taxable (so far). Would that money be part of Medicaid’s look-back?
MY RESPONSE:
Your monthly income, whether coming from your VA benefit or Social Security is not part of the look-back because you never gave it away, and frankly, you can’t give it away in advance. Once you receive your monthly check, if you thereafter gift it to a family member or trust, that would trigger the 5-year look-back.
